Man oh Man I love these guys

Did I mention I am so grateful to be the mother of these precious children? I have made a goal this year to live more in the moment and the biggest reason is to enjoy life with these guys. I have been reading a few inspiring blogs lately that make me want to be a better mother, wife, friend, neighbor etc, etc. Although I cannot conquer Rome in a day, I will spend a few more minutes snuggling, kissing and squeezing their little hearts out! Along with just relishing in the fact that Tanner loves Football and loves is a gigantic understatement. He is 7 and he breaths and lives for football. I am so thrilled about this too, because I am the football junkie around here. I love that Tanner asks me questions about the sport and certain NFL football players like I know all. I love that he truly believes he will be out there on Lavell Edwards stadium turf one day and I cannot wait to be in the stands cheering my guts out! I love that Mylee is so independent and loves to march to her own beat, but still quietly sneaks into my bed early in the morning just so she can snuggle with Matt and I and feel protected and watched over after a bad dream. I love that Brynlee screams at the top of her lungs and goes hoarse. I am loving her open mouth kisses and slobbers so much that she gets sick of me saying "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss." I just got these pictures back from my dear friend Whit, once again she did an amazing job. I love freezing time with pictures and I hope that when I look back at these in 20 years I will remember the things that they were going through at that time in their lives. Man oh Man I love them!

Blog Slacker

I know that I am not getting an award for the most organized person any day soon, but I do want to start blogging at least once or twice a month to keep a running track of what went on during the year of 2010.

January started off great as we celebrated the New Year with Matt's family in Bear Lake and had a great time snowmobiling, sledding and skiing....well everyone but me that is (I actually had a great time until I kept hitting my head and by the end of the day I was so frustrated with the BIGGEST headache that it almost ruined my beaver mountain experience.) Matt and I came to the realization that we don't have to enjoy everything our spouse does. :)
We celebrated Matt's birthday, went to Tanner's "it's great to be 8" program, many JR Utah flash basketball games for Tanner,got to see the awesome fish and critters at the aquarium with Whitney and her cute kids, and attempted my first Zumba class. Mylee has really taken to learning her letters and numbers. She loves to dress up and comes up with some great combintions like wearing Matt's suit coat with feathers and Megans old dance costumes on top of each other with high high heels. Gotta love that girl. Brynlee had her first taste of rice cereal and veggies. She detests green beans! She will tighten her lips and her whole body quivers with disgust, it's quit comical actually. She rolled over for the first time in January and we are still waiting for her to sit up on her own, but she still continues to melt us with that dimpled smile of hers.
We went with my side of the family to Scofield Res to do a little ice fishing for my niece Kayzlie's birthday party. Matt was brilliant and brought a tent for shelter from the wind. Mylee stuck her legs and hands in the hole within the first 5 minutes we were there and Tanner loved being pulled on the sled behind the snowmobile.

I think that sums up January pretty well and I will attempt February in a couple of weeks.

Here we are at the premiere of New Moon. Lots of fun! We were laughing so hard before we even left the house!! sure love these ladies. My friends sure put on a great party with lots of fun gifts!! My Aunt Debby and cousin Bailey won the Bella birthday cake!! It was so huge, but it looked amazing! Thanks for such a fun night and for keeping me awake until 3:30 in the morning!!

Matt hate's when I put mushy things on here about him, but I just can't help it this time. I love you with all my heart. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect companion to share this fun journey with!! We went to Vegas earlier for a celebration and went to see Cher, thanks to Jaymz!! Loved every minute of it. This is us in our hotel room at the Paris. Lots of fun. On our actual anniversary, Matt surprised me with a room at Inn on the Creek in Midway where we spent our first Honeymoon night. Aww, ain't he romantic? Now he's going to kill me! :)

Halloween

A whole week of fun activities accompanied Halloween this year, then we all caught the swine flu that knocked us off our feet for a full week. Not fun!! Loved their cute little costumes this year.

Brynlee's Blessing

2nd GRADE

Well we have come to an end of another fun summer. Tanner has now entered the second grade and is loving it. He gets to ride his bike to school this year and was so excited to get a new BMX bike for his birthday!! I can't believe he is now 7 years old. He is such a sweet little dude! Lake Powell

We had a blast with the Goodman's, Morris's, and Schaefermeyers at Lake Powell this past week. Good Food, Good company and lots of fun!
I am still doing laundry. The kids lived in the water all day everyday. It was pretty hot and the water was refreshing the hits of the trip were cliff jumping,slot canyons and tubing!

KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION

I cannot believe how fast this past year has gone by. It seems like yesterday I was dabbing my eyes with five tissues when Tanner hopped on that big yellow bus for his first day of kindergarten. He had a wonderful year in Mrs. Paxman's class and loved every second of every day. I am so proud of all his accomplishments this year. He learned to read, do addition and subtraction and excelled in socializing :) When I can find my camera, I will post some pictures. Love you Tan Man!

Swim Bike Run

We did it, we finished our first Triathlon. We entered the St. George Tri back in December and have trained since then, what an experience! First of all, we had no idea what we were getting our selves into!! This course was so hard and then on top of that we had hurricane like conditions. Well, the wind was like 45 mph or more. They had to cancel our sprint swim, because of the white caps and wind. I was glad and disappointed at the same time. I kept telling myself that I could do it, but when a I saw the rescue boats coming in with a lot of people, I got a little freaked out. So we started off on the bike, what an experience that was in head wind going up such a steep hill and then having to come back down that steep hill. The run was in sand the whole way and there was another huge hill that we had to climb. I was eating people's dust the whole way and got the dry heaves, but I didn't actually throw up. We crossed the finish line together and were proud that we actually finished. Another one in the future? We are already talking about it. We will see. For those of you who are asking who I did this with, it is my dear friend and next door neighbor Emery. I couldn't have done it without her.

I cannot believe my baby girl is 3 years old. It seems like yesterday that Matt and I were up early On May 4th to go to American Fork Hospital to deliver our girl. We were surprised to see that you had red hair. We shouldn't have been considering it runs on both sides of the family. She now has a beautiful strawberry blonde that I absolutely love. Mylee is a armful of joy and love. She is such a sweetheart and is full of spunk. She is a very smart girl and started talking at a very young age. She loves to say the letters and numbers and sing and dance. She cannot wait to start her sing and dance class in summer. Mylee loves cinderella and barbies. Her favorite color is pink and she loves to have GUM! Mylee is a daddy's girl and loves to be with him every minute she can. She loves the same things he does too, boating, four wheeling, cars, and hot salsa! She is our everything. Happy Birthday sweet Mylee!!

Matt had a serious bug to get down to Powell, he rallied up the troops (Matt,Tanner,Billy,Noah,Craig,Eli,Hyrum,Alex) and headed out this last week to Lake Powell. They had an absolute blast. Matt is already talking about the next trip in May.

Tanner's kindergarten talent show

Tanner sang "I'm a VIP in my family" for his class talent show. He did so well that he was inviited to sing for the entire kindergarten. Grandma and Grandpa McAllister were there to show their support and came to watch him. He was so excited to see everyone there. I asked him if he was nervous and he said, "no, my stomach kind of feels excited." I loved his expression of "nervousness." We are so proud of him for getting up infront of all those people and singing his heart out!

Our Adventue in the Southern Caribbean

Last week, we were able to see our sweet sister Megan on the "Legend of the Seas." Megan is dancing on this cruise ship for 9 months. We decided that before she comes home we needed to see her fulfilling her dream. It was such a fun and inspiring experience. Fun seeing Megan and talking to her and catching up. She has grown up so much and is such a beautiful woman. Inspiring because of experiences that we had on and off the ship talking to locals and our assistant waiter. They were all experiences that opened my eyes and helped me to be thankful for the "little" things.
We started our journey in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It was a beautiful country. We got to see the temple and do a little shopping. The Dominican's are all very proud of the "Mormon" temple. It is probably the prettiest building most of them have ever seen. I have to agree. There are a lot of members in Santo Domingo, so we thought we should catch a sacrament meeting before we got on the ship, come to find out it was Stake conference. Bummer.
I loved taking the grand tour of the ship with Megan. She knew every crew member and they all loved her. They really treated us like royalty every where we went.
The ports we went to were St. Kitts, Guadalupe, Martinique, Barbados, St. Lucia. They were all beautiful and unique in there own way. I think my two favorites were Barbados and St. Lucia. Matt and I and Skyler and Hayley rented two scooters and went around town in Barbados. We then met up with the rest of the group and drove about an hour or so to Crane's beach. Wow, it is ranked one of the top ten beaches of the world and I know exactly why. It was so beautiful! The waves were so fun and the water was so warm.
St. Lucia was a blast we booked the zipline excursion. We didn't know what we were in for and we all had preconceived notions. Matt was thinking twice as long and straight down (daredevil), I was thinking well, I don't know what I was thinking. We had to be harnessed up and wear beautiful hair nets. We ziplined through the rainforest and to about 10 different platforms. It was a blast. We also got to see the Pirate ship they used for Pirates of the Caribbean and see where they filmed part of the movie. Way cool.
All in all my favorite was spending time with Megan and my husband. 10 days was a little long, I missed my kids terribly by the end and I am so grateful to my mom and sisters for watching my munchkins.

So this is my first post since Christmas, so sorry for those who keep checking and no new posts are here. I have been extremely busy lately and I can't even remember having a January, except for the fact that I can't ever remember having this much snow!! Thank goodness for the sunshine today, because I was about to boycott. The update around here is: Matt has started a new job with HADCO as their project manager/estimator. I think he is going to like it. It is in his field of study, so this will be a huge carreer move for him. He is still wholesaling cars on the side, so for those of you who need a car, he is still the go to man. Jen: I am busy with preschool, which I absolutely adore. I love all of my students this year, it has been a good time. Young Women's 3 nights this week has been YW, gotta love it. 41 girls and 9 coming in this year. Can you say huge? I am eternally greatful for these awesome girls though. I absolutely love my calling. I love my presidency and advisors, they are such amazing women whom I have learned a tremendous amount from. Thanks for the good times! Triathlon-What? I know what did I get myself into. Thanks to my dear girlfriends, I am now training to do the St. George triatlon in May. It has been a lot of hard work so far, but I am so excited for the payoff.
Tanner: Tanner just had his SEP's yesterday and is doing awesome, I am so proud of my little Tanman. He is excelling in his reading and math. We couldn't be more thrilled with the young man he is becoming. Such a sweetheart.
Mylee: she is such a conversationalist. She can talk to anyone for hours. She likes to talk and describe everything. She is absolutely a doll to have around the house. She is such a beautiful little lady and is so smart. She loves preschool. I hope she will still love it 2 years from now, after 4 years of preschool.
We have been lucky to stay away from all the nasty sickness that is floating around, knock on wood. Hope you are all doing well and I am sorry for slacking on the blog, but time is not on my side lately.

This last weekend I got to spend with my girlfriends! Our dear husbands watched the kids while we were able to get away for 3 days. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MATT!
Wow, what can I say about my husband that no one already knows? He is the most amazing man on the face of this earth! I am so blessed to have him as an eternal companion and best friend! We spent the weekend at Hotel Park City and it was absolutely amazing. We were only going to spend one night, but after checking in and seeing our suite, we had to stay two! Theses pictures are of our room, our view and us at the Olympic sports park. That was fun to see if you haven't before, I recomend it. The Jamaican bobsled team was there earlier practicing and the junior Canadian team. Way cool!

So I finally am updating since October! Here are my sweet adorable children's halloween costumes. Tanner went as Harry Potter and Mylee was 3 different things. I have posted 2 of her costumes. The first was a fairy, the second was a hula dancer, and then we finally decided on the carebear costume for the night. Fun times!
We had our Young Women in Excellence program the end of October that turned out absolutely beautiful, thanks to all my awesome leaders!! Love you guys by the way. Kelsey Hancock received her medallion, I am so proud of her! The theme was "The Possible Dream" we had it decorated like a wedding reception, complete with wedding cake and all! The Woolery's were our speakers and they were phenomenal. Thanks again to everyone who made it a huge success.

Is it just me or do other women have a total melt down when their husbands are gone for a long period of time? Matt has been working 18 hour days for the past few weeks with his uncle. Don't get me wrong here. I totally support his commitment and responsibility, but here on the home front things seem to escalate to a higher degree when it is just me holding down the fort. Kids get sick, house is a wreck, Halloween parties, homework, Young women's stuff, family obligations. Okay I am just complaining. I miss my husband. I just want to be able to sit down and have a normal conversation with him and look into his gorgeous brown eyes and not have to deal with the phone!! I do love my kids dearly, but these past couple of weeks I really do know why 2 parents are needed to raise and rear a family. Can't wait to see you again babe, hurry home!

This post is dedicated to our beloved sister Megan. Megan is leaving the lovely land of Utah to follow her dreams for 9 months!! We are so excited for her. Megan was chosen to dance on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship as an entertainer. She will travel the world. She first starts out in the Mediterranean, then makes her way down to the Caribbean and back up the the Mediterranean to finish her stint. She has always wanted to do this and it is a dream come true for her. We will miss her terribly, words cannot even describe. But we know that she will be happy and that makes us happy. So like I said before Megan, live with no regrets and that is with everything you do!!! Just like I said about Pres. My little Tan man has entered the big world of elementary school. He started Kindergarten this month. I was so excited f0r him. He was exstatic too. He couldn't wait to ride the school bus. The first day of school came and I was doing pretty good. I thougt that I would make it without getting emotional, because the excitement was above the sadness. I hugged him and kissed and gave him a dozen reminders and off he went running to the bus. As he sat down in the seat, he pulled down the window and waved good bye with a huge smile on his precious face. Just then a wave of emotion crashed upon me and I totally lost it. I was sobbing! Mylee started to cry because she will miss Tanner. So the two sniffly girls walked home hand in hand crying all the way. I wanted to see him actually go into his class and get pictures, so I headed over to the school to take more pictures. He was so proud and brave and let me give him one more kiss before he slipped away. Again the tears flowed fluently. This continued everyday for the first week. Now we have regrouped and most days I can't wait for the clock to read 11:55, bus stop time!
